How Singapore Celebrated New Year 2026: Dazzling Fireworks and Island-Wide Festivities

Singapore New Year 2026 Celebrations – Singapore welcomed 2026 with spectacular fireworks displays, star-studded concerts, and community events across the island as part of the nationwide ONE Countdown 2026. Massive crowds gathered at iconic spots like Marina Bay and Kallang Basin, while heartland and beach celebrations offered inclusive options. The events marked the culmination of SG60 celebrations, blending reflection on the past year with hope for the future.

Marina Bay: Iconic Skyline Spectacle

The Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 drew huge crowds to the waterfront, featuring a breathtaking 30-minute fireworks display at midnight, illuminating the skyline around Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum, and the Esplanade.

Pre-midnight activities included light projections on The Fullerton Hotel showcasing artworks by artists with disabilities, live musical performances, and festive markets like Togetherland by World Christmas Market. Popular vantage points – such as the Event Plaza, Helix Bridge, Esplanade Waterfront, Merlion Park, and Marina Bay Sands Waterfront – filled quickly, leading to police closures of several areas including the Jubilee Bridge and Fullerton waterfront for crowd control.

Enhanced security and real-time crowd monitoring ensured safety, with revellers dispersing steadily after the show ended around 12:13am.

Kallang Basin (Singapore Sports Hub): Longest Fireworks Display

At The Kallang (formerly Singapore Sports Hub), thousands enjoyed Singapore's longest New Year's Eve fireworks – a 35-minute spectacle across four chapters, starting around 9pm for families and building to a midnight crescendo over the Kallang Basin.

The evening kicked off at 7pm with a countdown procession, followed by a star-studded concert featuring K-pop group Super Junior, Chinese vocalist Cheng Huan, and local acts like Benjamin Kheng, Tabitha Nauser, and Iman Fandi. Additional viewing and broadcasts were available at OCBC Square and Water Sports Centre, with food, interactive activities, and a vibrant riverside atmosphere.

Sentosa (Siloso Beach): Beachfront Party Vibes

Sentosa hosted a lively beach countdown with Mediacorp's Let’s Celebrate 2026 at Siloso Beach, headlined by South Korean duo Red Velvet – IRENE & SEULGI, alongside Singapore stars including Taufik Batisah, Sezairi, Hady Mirza, Shabir, shazza, Jasmine Sokko, Nathan Hartono, Glenn Yong, and more.

The free event ran from 7pm to 12:30am, featuring non-stop live performances, a midnight countdown, and fireworks over the beach. Nearby Palawan Green offered carnival games and additional festivities, creating a high-energy tropical celebration.

Heartland Celebrations: Community Countdowns

As part of ONE Countdown 2026, seven heartland locations hosted localised events with fireworks, live performances, carnival games, food stations, and family-friendly activities:

  • Boon Lay
  • Keat Hong
  • Marsiling
  • Nee Soon
  • Punggol (including One Punggol with mass workouts and communal fun)
  • Tampines (at Our Tampines Hub Arena)
  • Woodlands

These decentralised celebrations allowed residents to enjoy the New Year close to home, fostering community spirit without the central crowds.

Other Highlights Across Singapore

  • Clarke Quay: Parties, drone shows, and riverside vibes.
  • Migrant Worker Centres: Events at recreation centres and dormitories, including fireworks at Soon Lee.
  • Premium options included rooftop parties at Marina Bay Sands hotels, gala dinners, and SkyPark views.

Singapore's New Year 2026 festivities highlighted unity and accessibility, with extended public transport and safety measures supporting the island-wide joy. For NRIs and global audiences, the multicultural performances and inclusive events reflected Singapore's diverse spirit.
